Join clinical herbalist, certified naturalist and forest therapy guide Lauren Thomas for a guided plant walk along the beautiful Seaview Trail in Tilden Regional Park.
Together, we’ll slow down and meet some of the edible and medicinal plants growing throughout the East Bay. You’ll learn how to recognize several common local plants, which identifying features to look for, how they have traditionally been used, and important considerations for safe and responsible harvesting.
This walk is designed for beginners. No previous plant or herbal knowledge is needed.
Location: Seaview Trailhead, Tilden Regional Park

What to bring: Comfortable walking shoes, water, sun protection, and a notebook or phone for taking notes
Trail conditions: We’ll move at an educational pace with frequent stops, but the trail includes hills and uneven ground.

Kids are welcome! Children ages 6–12 may attend free with a paying adult, with a limit of two free child tickets per group. This is an educational walk with frequent stops for discussion and plant identification, so it tends to be best suited to teens and adults. Younger children are welcome, but families should consider whether the two-hour, discussion-based format will be a comfortable fit for them.
Cancellation Policy: Cancellations made at least 24 hours before the event are eligible for a full refund. Cancellations made within 24 hours of the event are nonrefundable. If the event is canceled due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances, you’ll receive a full refund.
